If you’re reading this, you are, hopefully, either an actor, writer, director, aspiring actor, or someone involved with the performing arts in some way. If so, you’ve come to the right place.

By way of introduction, we are, Tanya and Jonathan Marten. Both of us are actor-writer-directors, as well as acting coaches, with a combined 50 years in the entertainment industry. Our experience covers stage, film and television. We also own our own indie film company, Soular Films, and serve, respectively, as Managing Director and Artistic Director of the Actors Repertory Theatre. This blog was created through ART, as a means of sharing our knowledge and expertise with anyone who wants to learn from both our successes and our “learning” experiences.

We will be discussing anything and everything we can, from tips on auditioning to our own personal experiences working in the entertainment industry. We’ll also be asking some of our industry friends to contribute their thoughts, as well. Additionally, we will also attach links to resources we believe might help in your quest to become a working actor (director and/or writer), or, if you’re already a working actor, things that may help take you to the next level.
